Camp Casey Fundraiser

On November 30, 2017, PediaPUPS and Rho Chi, UW’s chapter of the International Honor Society in Pharmacy, hosted Kiwanis Camp Casey Bowling Fundraiser and Raffle for the second consecutive year. This fundraiser for Camp Casey was initially proposed by PediaPUPS’s former president, Leah Ruggerone, who was a counselor at Kiwanis Camp Casey for many years and saw, first-hand, what a wonderful opportunity it is to the campers. Kiwanis Camp Casey is a free summer camp for children with physical disabilities during which they can spend a week doing fun activities and building friendships with other children who also face similar challenges. This camp also gives the parents and caregivers of these children an opportunity to relax and recharge. The North Central Seattle Kiwanis Club is the sponsoring service organization for Camp Casey. This event raised money to help fund campers to attend Camp Casey this next summer. The fundraising event consisted of two components, a raffle drawing and bowling at the HUB Bowling Alley. Seven lucky winners were drawn from the raffle at the event and received the raffle ticket items, generously donated by Paint the Town, Jet City Improv, and DoodleBug Sportz.
